Montuiri in Mallorca

Montuiri in Mallorca It’s a sizable city, considered to be one of the best to live in Mallorca, also because it’s not far from the island’s capital. Despite the fact that it’s so close to Palma, it still attracts a lot of tourists who can experience peace, tranquility, relaxation and most importantly, the local culture and tradition. Like most of the towns on Mallorca, Montuiri also lived (and still does to a large extent) from agriculture.

Here you can buy local oils, honey, delicious wine and local almonds. Your attention will be drawn to the large number of windmills which were once used to grind grain into flour. Nowadays, they are not used, however, they are a cultural asset and many of them are being renovated. This town is perfect for a stroll, slowly exploring the narrow streets, admiring the local architecture and details such as sandstone and stone buildings.

What to do in the Montuiri area?

The town of Montuiri in Mallorca is very close to the capital, so it will be obvious to recommend a visit to Mallorca’s largest town, with its impressive cathedral and amazing climate. A little closer there are towns worth visiting, such as: Algaida, Randa, Porreres. When it comes to interesting beaches and bays, I would highly recommend visiting, deviating slightly from the road to the capital: Cala Pi, Es Trenc, viewpoint Badia Gran, Cala Blava, or a bit more urban beaches such as: Playa de Palma, Can Pastilla and a bit more scenic Cala Major, or Cala Comtesa.
